![]() In 2012, Taiga Saejima is serving the last year of his sentence for the Yoshiharu Ueno hit in a prison in Hokkaido, when word reaches him that Majima has seemingly been killed by order of Taizo Kitakata, patriarch of Sapporo's largest yakuza group, the Kitakata Family. The Saejima Family has close ties to the much larger Majima Family, headed by Patriarch Saejima's oath brother Goro Majima. The Family was created as a reward for Taiga Saejima, a former enforcer of the Sasai Family who carried out a hit on Yoshiharu Ueno in 1985 killing 18 men and serving 25 years in prison for it, only to later escape prison and aid 4th Chairman Kazuma Kiryu in stopping a plot by Tokyo MPD Deputy Commissioner Seishiro Munakata to take control of the Tojo Clan. The Saejima Family was first established in 2010 as a successor group to the Sasai Family.
